OMSignal OMbra: OMSignal fitness tracking smart bra has been launched for a cost of $169 (starting price). The makers call it the ‘ultimate smart bra’.
The makers claim that the OMbra was painstakingly crafted over the course of a year by experienced sports bra designers, scientists and engineers with over 25 years of experience in the smart textile technology industry.
The fitness bra has been made after 1633 prototypes using software development methodologies and approaches throughout the development of the bra to test and optimise every parameter methodically.
In the four years of their research, OMsignal listed their important findings in their website:
- 70+% of women do not pick the right size bra
- Straps are the most common complaint about sports bras
- The way a woman runs will change depending on how the breasts are supported
Some of the key things that went into making the bra are:
Stretchable fabric: It ensures that the bra is stretchable so that it can easily adapt to any breast shape. Its made from a blend of polyester, nylon and elastane. The bra serves as an absorbent pressure and reduces stress.
Adjustable Straps and Closure: You can adjust the bra to your level of comforts depending on the sports you are wearing. The OMbra limits movement of the breasts by securing the movement in 3 dimensions with adjustable straps, lateral stitches and double-layered compressive sides.
Mesh: Mesh panels are integrated on the front and back of the bra. Breathability is a significant aspect. The mesh and fabric contain sweat-wicking properties that’ll keep your skin dry.
