Lumoid lets you try fitness bands only for $20 before you buy

In today’s times, fitness remains a lofty goal but why should let it stop you from trying and buying different fitness bands? Courtesy Lumoid, now you can request to ship up to five best fitness tracker to your home and try them on your own for a week to buy the one you most liked. Those who came in late, Lumoid is a San Francisco-based gadget rental marketplace where people can try different devices such as camera and even drones on the rent. Though, camera still remains the bread and butter of the company, it is trying to extend its inventory footprints by offering services like ‘Wearables Box’ and ‘Trying Before You Buy.’ It is a peer-to-peer service, which means that the gadget you will be getting will be rented on for a nominal rate from the people who are not using it for the time being while giving you a chance to save money on something that is not value-for-money or is not feasible enough to use.

lumoid_wearablesIt is true that it does not matter even if we read millions of reviews or comparative analysis of fitness bands unless we try them hands-on. We can read about the specifications but we cannot tell if the device is lightweight enough to be sported 24 hours on the wrist. We cannot tell if it is compact enough to be worn underneath a shirt and won’t come in the way of your daily work. Based on your case if you are a runner or looking to track your sleep pattern, you need to see what fitness tracker works the best for you. Similarly, the compatibility with different devices such as smartphones and tablet is also a thing that cannot be ignored. So, for the subjective assessment, you need to actually try them.

With Lumoid, we can expect that crisis to be over and we can finally spend our money on the perfect fitness companion that is made for us. Once you have finalized the band that is compact, gives you the right fitness metrics and does not obstruct you from doing daily work, you can ask Lumoid to ship you back the brand new device on the retail price. And if you do not like what you see, you will be exonerated by just paying the rental fee that is only $20. The $20 renting fee will be deducted from your credit card when you will return the trackers. If you keep the trackers shipped by Lumoid, it will deduct the full retail amount from the card.

According to the founder of Lumoid, Aarthi Ramamurthy, the Fitbit Charge had the most promising start in the beta phase of renting out. While Lumoid gains from the first hand and real-time information on which tracker is doing well, you avoid splurging money on what you might find ‘unfit’ in the long run.
