Alcatel showcased a number of devices at the at IFA 2016 including a range of Move wearable devices like Moveband, Movetime Wi-Fi Watch, Movetrack and Move Track & Talk.
The Move Band is a bracelet that tracks track all physical activities that a fitness bracelet should be tracking. It sports dedicated applications for distance travelled, pace, time, calories and sleep patterns. Moveband will be available bundled with the company’s smartphones like the Alcatel Idol 4S. It can be entirely charged in just two hours. The Movetime Wi-Fi Watch does the same work with added features like receiving phone calls, SMS messages, and emails. It also features a built-in heart rate monitor and an intuitive control system.
The Movetrack is a GPS tracker that is super light weighing only 33 grams. You can hook it with objects you keep misplacing like bags, coats, keychains, etc. You can also attach the device to your pet. It comes with a dedicated app called Virtual Fence, that notifies users when an item enters or leaves a pre-defined safe zone.
Move Track&Talk is exclusively for kids. The device sports five speed-dial numbers for quick calling and 10 pre-defined contacts in case of emergency. It helps parents in keeping track of their children’s’ whereabout.
“Wearable connectivity is the future of technology and human behaviour. It will shape our habits for generations to come,” says Vittorio Di Mauro, General Manager of Smart Connectivity at Alcatel. “This is why we’ve launched different devices for different ages so together we stay connected. There is a huge opportunity in connected devices for children as a way to reassure parents, me included!”
Alcatel had launched its OneTouch Watch in India last year at Rs 7,999. The watch is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. The wearables will be available from September and Alcatel is yet to reveal pricing details.
